Are you scared of the monsters?

1 minute read

An email to Irene from a 2-1/2 year-old boy who dictated his email to his mom:

Hi Ms. Irene,

Are you scared of the monsters?

The end.

L.

Hi L,

It was so good getting your email. I hear that you are thinking about monsters. Sometimes I think about monsters. It can be scary to think about monsters. Sometimes when I think about them I think about how I can run fast like the wind and that I can run away from them so that they can't catch me. Sometimes when I think about monsters I think that I can pick up a baseball bat and I can scare them away so that they can't hurt me or anyone else. I want to be safe and I want my family to be safe.

In my dreams I try to think about running away from them fast. In my dreams I try to find a big stick to frighten them so that they can't hurt me.

Sometimes it takes a superhero like Super Irene or Super L or Super Mom or Super Dad to help keep the monsters away. It's not easy, but we can get those monsters to stay away and leave us alone. We are big and strong and getting bigger and stronger every day.

Love,
Irene
